Read Time:3 Minute, 9 Second

So my atempt to distract you with an optimistic viewpoint may have excited you or may have fallen flat on it’s face. Maybe I shouldn’t reveal my tactics in the first paragraph. Sometimes it’s tough to live up to all of the hype and hysteria we’ve built up over the past 12 days. People are expecting results and when there are no significant results we get comments like “Well that one was kinda bunk but on well lol” or “…man that sucks…” or “…Your amazon link is broxed :)” We love the comments, but these days I’m finding myself thinking that I’ve got to appease the blood-thirsty masses or else I’ll lose my head.

With the the weight of the world upon my shoulders I sense this, once fledgling, blog slipping and sliding through my fingers as nothing Instagram-worthy happened today. Oh oh!

The tile guy failed to show up at 8am as we had scheduled, leaving me hanging with a cryptic message that read “I go. to arrive a little late I got an unforeseen” What could this mean? Your guess is as good as mine. After several texts, I finally got a response at the end of the day that read “good night paul tomorrow I will arrive 6 at work I could not go today one of my workers did not show up for another job and had to finish”. Totally understandable, it’s tough running a business, but a little communication earlier on would have been nice. We’re building our team out here in AZ, and some will make the cut and others won’t. Who will get the rose this week and continue onward…nobody knows.

So, tile schedule is off by a whole day, but this cannot stop the wheels of progress from moving forward! Scott and I finished most of the rewiring of Unit B. We ran dedicated wiring for heavy draw stuff like microwave, HVAC, bathroom GFCI, and instead of the exposed coaxial cable running along the eaves of the house we ran them through the attic where a previous Cox Cable contractor dared not tread, and most likely wasn’t paid enough to dare tread. Now, the exterior is clean and as free of cable-clutter as possible.

We also ripped out the existing ventilation hood in the kitchen to prepare for new kitchen ventilation and cabinets, it was a proper mess (not to be confused with “proper tum-tums” as Scooter over in New Zealand would be salivating over) that definitely contributed to my dust layer that encapsulates my entire being every day. We got a ventilation fan installed in the bathroom and did lots of electrical tests.

Tile should start promptly tomorrow at 6am, so I have high hopes of having photos of the bathroom floor being installed. Everything is looking good so far.

I’m getting spoiled here, 3 straight nights ending with a soak in the hot tub. Gonna have to get a hot tub over at the Triplex. Oh, yeah, the Triplex remodel will start somewhere around January 15, so stay tuned for that one too! Soon we’re gonna be visiting CA for the holidays then wrap this one up and get it on Airbnb sooner rather than later.

Here are some photos from this morning. I hope the animated GIFs show up properly. And also, we love the comments, next time leave them here on the blog so we can build the community. We don’t take comments super serious, I take this whole thing as just an incredibly fun experience!

Keep the comments flowing, we enjoy sharing the experience!

    1. Yeah what are you thinking? Maybe we add a subterranean floor below your house with a couple extra bedrooms, bathroom, and game room?
