Not too many photos today, we spent a good amount of time getting the second bathtub installed and it took so long to get installed because…you guessed it, there was another disconnected pipe under the house. Had to make numerous trips to get parts and finally it’s mostly done. Hopefully everything holds together and we can move on to other projects. Today I also did a bunch of insulation, demolition removing baseboards and door trim and just getting things ready for tile and rewiring electrical. Painting of the exterior is pushed back to allow for the stucco to cure properly. We installed new valves throughout on many of the water outlets and made sure there were no leaks. No skeletons under the floor thankfully.
Scott had to do some work on his house this weekend so he took all of his tools home with him today which I am very grateful for because I took a trip to Home Depot for more supplies around 7:30pm. When I returned, I did some work getting the bathroom floor reinstalled when I noticed my backpack was not where I expected it to be, in fact? I couldn’t find it anywhere. I searched high and low and couldn’t find it. Further investigation revealed the screen in the bathroom window was missing and ripped up on the ground outside the window and a saw horse was knocked over and some crates were stacked up near the locked gate to the back yard. I suspected that I was robbed and, when searching the house, I discovered my tool bag was also missing. My true valuables like my laptop and my Supras were still here. The house was totally robbed while I was at Home Depot! I tallied up my missing items and realized my backpack had an iPad, my USB soundcard, two nice microphones, shockmount, USB to Midi box, and some cables in it. That was gone, as well as my to tool bag with a fancy Bluetooth distance measuring device that Tab got me, a Jigsaw, drill, and lots of misc tools that I will need to replace. Luckily my laptop was still here and a borrowed 303 Emulator, XOXBOX, that belongs to my friend Jay. All in all a lot of stuff stolen but it could have been much worse. They left my expensive headphones, DJ controller, and portable Bluetooth speaker which is good. I called the police and filed a report just in case something turns up, though I doubt anything will.
Another minor setback, but I realized that we are in a transitioning neighborhood and that maybe we got in on an up-n-coming neighborhood much earlier than we originally thought which is a positive. It’s all upside from here on out! Hopefully it won’t affect our future Airbnbing at this location. Time to beef up security with some motion lights and maybe security cams.
Im watching every person that walks by looking for my backpack with the “Tiny Rick” pin on it.
Finally time to sleep. Tomorrow I get to sleep in…
