So we decided that we needed to up our security at the duplex, so I spent the day installing new Nest door locks that we can control via the internet and assign codes to certain people to enter only at certain times.  For example, when we start Airbnbing these places we can assign the exact times the guests are allowed to use their access codes and we can allow access to the housekeeper only during the specified cleaning time. How does this make us more secure?  Well, first off, we suspect one possible weakness in our security was that we hadn’t changed out our locks and any previous tenant could have entered using a copy of their keys. This new lock will prevent this weak link and will give us a log of all locks and unlocks of the door and who performed said lock and/or unlock.  Plus it’s just kinda fun that Tab could unlock the door from LA using her phone. Oh yeah, Tab arrives today so I gotta start getting the place cleaned up!

First I need one more level of security on the house since we will be staying in a hotel for a few days as the tile guys create a dust storm. I proceeded to wire up an outlet in the back patio so I could both, install a motion light with the brightest LED lights that Home Depot had on offer, and plug in a string of globs lights to keep the back area well illuminated.

That’s pretty much it for today…excited to see Tab and sleep in a real bed.
